The elements panel is on the left hand side as it was in Artisan® 4. However, it is possible to minimize it to increase the work space. If yours has been minimized, you’ll find a little triangle at the top of where the elements panel usually is, near where it says "Welcome." Click that and the elements panel will reappear.
The same function is available on the operations panel on the right side of the screen.
