Page Limits and Project Setup
Only Standard Hard Cover or upgraded Standard Layflat Photo Books (12x12, 10x10, 11x8.5, 8.5x11, and 8x8) can hold up to 199 pages. Deluxe Seamless Layflat books are still limited to 98 pages (49 spreads).
If your book was started before March 1, 2023 (or it is a project you copied from a project started before then) it will still be capped at 99 pages. To expand the page count, create a new project and import the existing designs using the Pages and Cover steps outlined below. For guidance, you can watch this video tutorial from the pixels2Pages team: Importing Pages Between Projects.
Importing Pages in Order
When importing pages, they won’t automatically stay in their original order due to Artisan’s naming system. To avoid rearranging them later:
-
Create a new folder (outside the project folder).
-
Export each page with consecutive three-digit names (e.g., 001_ProjectName, 002_ProjectName) by going to File > Save as > Export current page.
-
Repeat until all pages are saved, except the cover, which should be imported separately.
-
In the new project, go to Add page > Using a page file from My Computer, select all saved pages (Ctrl-A), and click Open.
-
(Optional) Remove blank pages by right-clicking them in the Pages Panel and selecting Remove this page.
Adding the Cover
If you’re adding a cover from your original project:
-
Click the Cover in the Pages Panel and confirm the informational message.
-
Go to Template > Using a page file from My Computer and select your cover file from the original folder.
-
If your book has more than 99 pages, check and reposition any cover elements, especially on the Spine and Front Cover. Use View > Parts to see these sections separately.
Cover Design and Spine Adjustments
For books with over 99 pages, the spine width increases as you add pages, but at a different rate than Deluxe Layflat books due to differences in binding. Design your cover after finalizing the page count to avoid repeated adjustments. The cover size changes at:
-
Adding pages: 37, 77, 119, and 161 total pages.
-
Deleting pages: 160, 118, 76, and 36 total pages.
Keep in mind that for larger books, the front cover may shift to accommodate the spine, requiring you to reposition any elements on the front.
Printing Limitations
Photo Book projects with over 99 pages won’t offer the option to print individual interior pages as Page Prints when uploading to FOREVER. You can use the steps above for "Importing Pages..." to move those to a specific Page Print project instead!
