When exporting photos from Apple Photos, the "date picture created" metadata may change to the export date. This can cause photos to appear out of order when uploaded to FOREVER®. To maintain the correct metadata, follow these steps:
How to Export Photos While Preserving Metadata

Select Photos & Videos
- In the Photos app, select the items to export.
- To select multiple items, hold Command while clicking.
- To select a range, click the first item, then hold Shift and click the last item.

Open the Export Menu
- Click File > Export > Export [number] items.

Adjust Export Settings
- Photo Kind: Choose JPEG, TIFF, or PNG (JPEG is smaller; TIFF/PNG offer higher quality).
- Videos: Select a Movie Quality option (if applicable).
- Metadata: Check the boxes to preserve metadata and location data.
- File Naming:
- Set File Name to Use File Name.
- Set Subfolder Format to Moment Name (organizes photos into subfolders by event).

Export & Save
- Click Export to open the Finder window.
- Choose a save location (e.g., Desktop or external drive).
- Click New Folder if needed.
- Click Export to complete.
These settings ensure that titles, keywords, descriptions, and locations remain embedded in the exported files. Each “Moment” will be saved in its own subfolder for better organization.
