How to Turn Off HEIC on iPhone or iPad
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
- Scroll down and tap "Camera."
- Tap "Formats."
- Under the Camera Capture section, select "Most Compatible" instead of "High Efficiency."
This will ensure your device captures photos in JPEG format instead of HEIC. Note that videos and high-efficiency formats like ProRAW may still use HEVC encoding.
