Your iOS device can take photos in either HEIC or JPEG., each file type has their own benefits depending on how you want to use your images. Here are the steps to get to this area to check or change how your photos are taken:
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad
- Scroll down and tap Camera > Formats
- Under the Camera Capture section, select one of these options...
A. Most Compatible - Capture photos in JPEG, which is the common file type that can be used across most sites and devices (such as within Artisan and Historian).
B. High Efficiency - Capture photos in HEIC, which isn't as commonly used but does allow for higher resolution photos to save as a smaller file size.
NOTE: videos and high-efficiency formats like ProRAW may still use HEVC encoding.
