If you have negatives—whether in APS cartridges or standard negative strips—you can request to skip certain images during digitization! These skipped images do not count toward your item or scan total, so be sure to account for this when packing your FOREVER® Digitization Box.
You have a few options to clearly indicate which images you’d like our technicians to skip:
1. Stickers
Place a small sticker directly on the image(s) you want to skip.
-
Ensure the sticker is fully adhered to the image (not hanging off), so it doesn’t interfere with the scanning equipment.
-
We often see clients use inexpensive circle stickers (like those used for yard sales) because they’re easy to apply and remove.
-
Note: This method is not always residue-free. Sticker glue may remain and cause damage, so use with caution.
2. Permanent Marker
Use a permanent marker to cross out the unwanted image.
-
Draw a thick “X” from corner to corner of the image to make it clearly visible under light.
-
This option is permanent so make sure you're confident you’ll never want the image digitized before marking it.
-
Tip: Hold the negative up to a bright light to clearly review the image so you know which one it is before permanently marking.
3. Written Note
Prefer a non-destructive method? Include a note with clear instructions.
-
You can list which images not to scan, either by number (APS) or position (e.g., 2nd image on a strip).
-
Leave the note with the negatives either in their protective sleeves or alongside each of the cartridges you are including.
-
Note: This method may involve additional handling fees due to the extra care required
No matter which method you choose, our technicians will do their best to honor your request and treat your memories with care. If you have further questions, feel free to contact support@forever.com before sending in your box.
