Multi-factor authentication, also known as MFA or 2FA, is an added layer of security. It appears after the password is entered and asks for a second additional way to verify the account owner's identity. This means you may be asked to enter a verification code sent to a phone or email to confirm that you are the owner trying to access the account.
Verification methods you can choose from include:
- A code sent by email;
- A code sent by text message; and/or
- A code generated by an authenticator app.
MFA is completely optional for each individual account. It can be turned ON or OFF at any time you are signed into your account. Please note that Account Managers will still have normal access to manage an account, even if that account has turned on any MFA method.
