Sometimes mistakes happen — you may have accidentally told FOREVER® Facial Recognition that a person in a photo is someone else, or simply mis-clicked when selecting from a list of names. Don’t worry, it’s easy to fix a misidentified face in a photo!
Follow the steps below to remove the incorrect identification and assign the right person.
Step-by-Step: Correcting a Misidentified Person
1. Open the Photo
Click on the photo in your Library to open it in Lightbox view.
2. Locate the Info Panel
On the right side of the screen, you’ll see the Info panel. Here, you’ll find the name that was assigned to the face.
3. Select Face with the Incorrect Name
Next to People click the Edit button. Then click the minus sign (–) next to the incorrect named face.
💡 Tip: If you have Facial Recognition, hover over the name to see which face on the photo is associated with it — this will highlight the bounding box around the identified face, so you can verify the face and name match.
4. Remove Entirely or Add the Correct Name
If the face was recognized (has the bounding box) you can either choose "Remove Person From Photo" or type in the correct name:
- Select an existing People profile from the dropdown list, or
- Create a new one by typing a name and hitting Enter.
If the face was manually added it will ask you to Confirm you no longer want this person on the photo.
5. Repeat if Needed
Repeat this process for any additional misidentified faces in the photo. Or click Done next to People to finish.
By keeping your People profiles accurate, you help improve Facial Recognition results across your entire FOREVER account for auto-tagging new photos you upload!
