🛑What Happens After Cancelling
The Facial Recognition functionality will be disabled at the end of your paid timeframe. This means your yearly subscription will continue as normal through the end of the year, the date you can see outlined in your Recurring Payments once it is cancelled.
If you cancel a Permanent 5-Year Installment Plan, you will retain access to Facial Recognition until the end of your accrued year period. For each payment you make towards permanent facial recognition, you earn a number of accrued years towards your permanent status — this exact end date is stated during the cancellation process and will be listed in your Recurring Payments area for reference.
What can I do before the subscription is up?
You can continue to upload photos during the remaining timeframe and they will be facially recognized. After your subscription's time has finished all new photos uploaded will NOT be recognized automatically. You still have the option to manually add memories to a People profile if you so choose.
What happens to my People?
People profiles remain untouched even after the Facial Recognition is no longer active in your account. You can continue to edit their biographies or filter for specific individuals as you have been.

Will I lose the bounding boxes on my photos?
No, the bounding boxes on existing photos will remain even if Facial Recognition is not currently running in your account. This includes when you share recognized photos with others.
🔄Restarting Facial Recognition
Just as you can cancel your Facial Recognition at any time, you have the option to restart the subscription or installment plan*! Once the service has been restarted, all new photos uploaded will be facially recognized automatically.
If your account had any period of time where Facial Recognition was not running and you uploaded photos, then those photos will run through an official recognition process to gain bounding boxes on the people's faces (the same process as when an account first starts Facial Recognition). Already recognized photos will NOT be part of this process.

*In the event a Facial Recognition Installment Plan was cancelled and the accrued time is currently active, by starting a subscription or new installment plan for the service any remaining time will be lost. We suggest checking in your account's Recurring Payments area to verify when any accrued time will be finished before making a decision to start the service again.
