In your FOREVER® Storage account you have the option to either remove or delete a file from an Album or Tag. As you organize your memories, you may be wondering what is the difference between these two options? It's simple!
Remove Files
This takes the files out from the specific Album or Tag but keeps them in your Gallery and any other places you have it organized to. This is a great option to use with organizing memories in case you placed them in the wrong spot.
How to remove multiple files at once:
- Navigate to the Album or Tag your files are in.
- Hover your mouse over the first file and click the circle in the upper corner to select it.

Continue selecting the other files until you have them all.
💡Tip: You can click one file then hold the Shift button on your keyboard and click another file down the list to also select everything in-between the two files. - On the top toolbar click "Remove" with the X, then "Remove from Album/Tag" just under it.
- You will get a pop-up asking if you're sure you want to remove these items - Remove Files.
⚠️Warning: If the button says "Delete File" click CANCEL. Return to step 4 and attempt these steps again to remove from the Album or Tag.
How to remove one file using the Lightbox:
- Find the file in your account—you can do this through the Gallery, Album, Tag, or even People!
- Click to open the Lightbox on the file.
- On the right Info panel scroll down to the Tags and Albums listed.
- Follow the prompts to remove it from the appropriate area:
Tags: click the "X" next to the tag name.
Albums: - Repeat step 4 to remove it from all Tags and/or Albums of your choosing. When finished, simply press the Back arrow in the upper left to return to your previous view.
Delete Files
This immediately removes the file from ALL areas on an account and sends them to the Delete Bin.
⚠️Be careful! Deleting files can have a negative impact on area you may not think of; such as in People profiles or unpurchased Print Projects. Read more about what you should know before you delete a photo.
