At the FOREVER® Digitization Center, we use state-of-the-art scanning technology to preserve your cherished memories in high-resolution digital formats. Our scanning process ensures that every detail is captured with clarity, making it easy to reprint, restore, and share your memories for generations.
Scanning Resolutions by Media Type
Scrapbook Pages and Documents
- Scanned at 300 DPI.
- Provides sharp and clear digital copies while maintaining a manageable file size.
- Ideal for preserving handwritten notes, newspaper clippings, certificates, scrapbook layouts, and bound photo albums.
- You can ask to have these scanned at 600 DPI for an additional cost per scan, we suggest only using this for memories that have fine details (such as tiny writing) or you plan to print at a slightly bigger size (such as a 10x10 scrapbook page you want printed in a 12x12 book).
Loose Photographs
- Scanned at 600 DPI since most photos are printed in this resolution.
- Higher resolution ensures greater detail and color accuracy, making it ideal for photo restoration and enlargement.
- Perfect for reprinting and archiving precious family memories with enhanced sharpness.
Negatives and Slides
- Scanned at about 3,000 DPI.
- Captures fine details, textures, and colors to produce high-quality digital images.
- Ideal for making high-resolution prints and ensuring the best possible digital preservation of your negatives and slides.
File Formats
All scanned images are delivered in high-quality JPEG format for easy sharing and use. If you prefer TIFF files for lossless preservation and advanced editing, please include a note on your FOREVER Box's intake sheet or email support@forever.com with your box FDC number.
