FOREVER® measures storage in gigabytes, the common method for digital storage devices. We use gigabytes rather than number of images or items because over time sizes of images and items change. It is important that we offer to house full resolution digital content. To do that we need to use a measurement that grows over time.
If you are wondering what you can fit in a gigabyte, here are some examples:
- Approximately 1,000 scanned images at 300 dpi (photos or documents)
- Approximately 500 high resolution digital images
Depending on the resolution, you can store more or less. Any photographer will tell you that it's possible for one image to be more than a gigabyte.
