Steps to upload a Historian Cabinet to FOREVER using Valet
1. Open Historian.
2. Open the Cabinet whose content you wish to upload to FOREVER.
3. In the Cabinet ribbon, click on “Export cabinet.”
4. In the “Copy to Windows folders” window, make your selections – including the folder that you want to copy the Cabinet files to.
- What items to Copy
- Entire Cabinet will copy the entire vault
- Viewed will copy what is currently selected in the vault
- Selected will give you the option to select the photos you want
- How to Copy
- This is a personal choice.
- All revisions using current file name
- Active revision using current file name
- Active revision using item properties name
- This is a personal choice.
- Where to Copy
- Choose a folder on your computer (write this down so you remember)
- Organize destination folders by
- Categories and tags starting with
- Media Date - Year/Month
- Imported on Date - Year/Month
- Uncheck 'Use Shortcuts for duplicate files'
5. Click “OK” to export the Cabinet files.
6. Once the export is complete, click “OK” to close the message window stating that the export is finished.
7. Open Valet.
8. Click the “Upload” button.
9. Click “Add Folder” and choose the folder you exported your Historian Cabinet to.
10. Select the other options for this upload (how to organize and where to upload) and click “Upload.”
11. When the upload is complete, go to www.forever.com and you will see your Historian Cabinet files.
Notes:
- If you chose to include any/all revisions when exporting files from Historian, you may see multiple copies of your files in FOREVER. (Depending on whether you actually have revisions in this Cabinet.)
