Historian 6 - Import HEIC file type
PlannedIt would be very helpful if Historian could convert HEIC files to jpg so they can be imported from iPhone. I get Apple is not very integration friendly and iMazing has a product that converts .heic to jpg. It would be great if something similar could be integrated with the import option to Historian so I don't have to be afraid I'm deleting photos from my phone that I didn't upload to Historian.

Is there a reason you do not upload to FORVER from your phone (and it converts HEIC to jpg), then import to Historian from FOREVER?

I’m not always connected to the internet so I don’t store anything in Forever.

Adding my vote for conversion of HEIC in to H6, OR add HEIC as an acceptable upload function in FOREVER.

I also don't have internet all the time so I'm with Tabitha. Historian is my first stop prior to uploading to Forever!

I'd like to add my two cents worth here as well. I think Historian should be able to import HEIC files as well. HEIC Files have been out since 2017 and it would be great if both the website could upload HEIC files and Historian import them as well.

According to several reliable resources, in 2023 there were over 1.38 BILLION iPhones in use. iPhones make up more than 27% of the worldwide market of smartphones. The default photo format is HEIC. Historian is way behind the times! I think it is irresponsible to not meet the needs of so many users. Yes, I can change the setting of my iPhone away from the default HEIC to .jpg. However, in doing so denies me from the opportunity of using the higher quality and more compressed file that HEIC offers. There should no longer need to be step in between to use 3rd party software to convert HEIC to .jpg. I don't use Forever, and if I did, it would also be an additional step.
Historian, PLEASE help your consumers by either allowing HEIC to be used in Historian, or provide a conversion program built into Historian.
