In today's day and age, where technology's security is even more important, sometimes your phone won't allow access to 3rd party applications like Historian™. This usually means you cannot use the "Camera" button to import since there are too many layers of protection in place.
Not to worry—there's still a workaround! You can transfer the memories directly from your phone into Historian using the computer's File Explorer.
Importing Workaround Steps
1. Open Historian and go into your Media Library where the photos are.
2. Plug your phone in to the computer using a transfer cable (usually charging cords double as a transfer cable).
💡Tip: Check your phone or tablet for a message asking if you would like to allow the computer access to your device. Click YES or APPROVE to continue.
3. Go into File Explore and navigate into phone's camera folder, usually listed as DCIM (which stands for Digital Camera Images). On some mobile devices, like Android, you can go into other folders such as "Camera" or "Screenshots" to see more memories.
4. Select the files from this area you want to bring into your cabinet. Then click and drag the selected photos into open your Historian media library.
💡Tip: you can single-click the first file then hold Shift on your keyboard and click another file to select everything in-between, or hold Control on your keyboard and click every individual file you want to import together.
5. Go through the import prompts (such as check-marking to exclude duplicates).
