If you use Artisan® or Historian™, you may want to ensure that your important project files are stored locally rather than automatically saving to OneDrive. This guide will walk you through adjusting your settings in Windows 10 to change the default save location from OneDrive to your local hard drive.
If you need general help with OneDrive, we recommend reaching out directly to Microsoft Support.
Changing Your Default Save Location in Windows 10
Follow these steps to update your settings:
- Right-click the Start button (Windows icon) in the bottom-left corner of your screen and select Settings.
- Click on System, then navigate to Storage in the left menu.
- Scroll down and select Change where new content is saved.
- For each category (Documents, Pictures, Videos, etc.), use the dropdown menu to select your C: drive (Local Disk) instead of OneDrive.
After making these changes, new files will be saved locally by default, ensuring full control over your Artisan® and Historian™ projects.
