Searchable PDF Indexing

The capability to search inside our storage account with a word or phrase and find it within a document, letter, page of a diary, or article would save hundreds and hundreds of hours of tagging and adding to the description in the light box. This would elevate our ability to find and cross reference information. The technology exists but not in our account.

  A work around I've used is to do a copy paste of the text before saving it as a jpg or pdf and then pasting that in the description box so it's now part of the metadata and searchable.   Of course, you don't always have the option to do this.  In these cases, this would be nice.  Stories and text are an important part of what we are saving and making it searchable would be a huge benefit.

  YESSS!!!! Please make this happen! I would absolutely love the ability to search words or phrases within PDFs for my genealogy records. This would be a game changer for research helping me quickly find names, dates, and key details without having to manually go through every document.

  The ability to store PDFs is such an important part of our full memory-keeping system. To truly knock it out of the park, having those documents be searchable would make all the difference—especially as this is something being requested more and more.

  Many of my clients, as well as myself, have a lot of .pdf documents in our accounts.  It would be fabulous if there was an ability to make them searchable.  It would also be wonderful if one of the AI enhancments was the ability to change a handwritten document into text that was automatically added to the description of that document.  I've had to download, run it through an AI program, copy and then paste into FOREVER.  It would be fantastic if this could all be done within FOREVER and thereby become searchable.  This would also make it easier for someone to "read" the letter when they can't read the handwriting.

  Cheryl Freye - That is what I have had to do also. I have hundreds of WWII letters that I have been doing this with. As I am reading through the letters I am seeing many things mentioned that I want to be able to find again later to share with my family. A simple search would save me hours. I also have thoudsands of pages from journals that need to be searchable. I am concerned that these memories will remain buried in my account and really never become the most enriching source to future posterity.

  This would VERY useful. I tell people about storing important documents in their FOREVER storage account, so it goes without saying that these documents need to be easily searchable. :)
