Fuzzy Date Labels in File Lists
When photos are assigned to a decade (e.g., 1920s), the Gallery view currently displays “Jan 1, 1920,” which implies a precise date that isn’t actually known. For scanned and historical photos, this can be misleading.
It would be more accurate and user-friendly to display “1920s” or “Decade: 1920s” instead of automatically assigning a specific day and month. The same issue occurs when selecting a month and year, where the system defaults to the first day of that month. It would be clearer to display only the selected month and year without assigning an exact day.
This change would benefit many users by providing clearer, more accurate labeling for approximate dates in the Gallery.

This change would be very helpful. When photos are uploaded with only the year on them, the Forever system also adds January 1 to these photos. This is a similar problem to this post about the decade year and might could be addressed at the same time.

Hi Dionne, yes I hope they address both issues and make this a feature. I’m glad others find this an issue as well. Hopefully, they make this a reality!

I love this idea!!!!!

I agree. I would also LOVE to have the time stamp be completely optional. It's frustrating when entering information on the majority of uploaded photos and documents to always have to adjust a "pretend" time.
