Improve Date Input

Here is a suggestion that would make the organization for dates better

I would much prefer an option to just type in a date (July 4 1999) or month/year (04/99) etc INSTEAD of scrolling thru that wheel to set a date. Today the scroll is not even consistent scroll up for older dates/yrs vs scroll down for older date/yr when selecting. Of course all of the dates we need to apply a date to are our scanned photographs (not digital) so they are old and need to scroll, scroll, scroll! Ugh

I hope this makes sense and you strongly consider this enhancement in a future release.

  This would be a welcome improvement to dating photos.  We have to make it as easy as possible.

  This would be very helpful. I wish the dates in Forever Storage could be like the ones in Historian, where you can just type the date and it formats it.

  Yes, this would improve dating photos and would make it faster hope they do it!

  I would LOVE to be able to just type in a date and not need to go through the scrolling and selecting year then scroll to select month then click on date.  When you are changing the date on a lot of photos this process is extremely cumbersome and time consuming.

  I agree. And please make the time stamp optional - it's frustrating when you have a complete date to be forced to enter/edit a time of day.

  Wendy the time stamp is optional - just pick Specific Day and there is no time stamp

  While in the lightbox, I'd like to be able to type the date in rather than the many clicks it takes to change the date.

  As I'm entering dates on a lot of scanned images I wish the default was Specific Date instead of Exact Date and Time.  The majority of time (I'd venture 95+%) that someone is changing a date they have no idea of the exact time.  It is most likely a scanned image so a date only would be sufficient.  If it defaulted to Specific Date and had Exact Date and Time as an option in the drop down it would save a lot of extra clicks and make it more efficient.

  I agree with Cheryl's comments 100%.  If the date is not correct, chances are you don't know the correct time, so Specific Date would be a much better default with Exact Date and Time as an option.  It sure would save me time from selecting Specific Date and then selecting the date.  I would also like to enter the date versus selecting each piece of the date from drop down options.

  I also find that if I select the Specific Date option, then if I don't select the month, day, year in the right order - the date doesn't change. And it doesn't give me any warning. At a minimum I would like a warning when I click "Apply" that says the date did not change.

  Yes please. I came here to say all of this - I would love to be able to type a date rather than scroll, and please make Specific Date, not date and time the default. Also is there a way to agree to the warning about fuzzy dates once rather than every single time?
  (Can you tell I’ve been doing a lot of dating scanned photos lately)
