Show Sort By Selection at top of Gallery and Album Page
I would love to be able to see at the top of the page which Sort By option is currently active when in the Gallery and Albums. This used to show in the upper right corner. It would be good to see this anywhere along the top.
It has been very confusing for clients when they look at their Gallery or Album and don't see the photos the way they are expecting. It is usually because they have a date uploaded instead of date taken chosen. But in order to see this they need to click on Filters. It would be best if they could just automatically see the Sort Order then click on Filters to change the option if they choose.
All the other filters show you that there is a filter selected by displaying the Clear Filters Option.

I agree 100%! I even did it today. I’d like default to date taken, not upload as I feel that is what most are expecting . Thx!

I agree to default sort by date taken. That is the purpose of changing the dates, after all. Upload date is only useful for me when I need to add to a Collaborative Album. The Collaborative Albums seem to be sorted by upload date in reverse. Newest first. I would like to see them in Upload Date, Newest First.

Agree, this would be very helpful. In Historian, the view changes to show you what you just uploaded, IF you just uploaded something (and it even tells you the view was changed). Otherwise, it defaults to what YOU selected as your default. It would be nice if we are shown what our current View is and to choose what the default is for OUR library.

I worked with several clients this week that not knowing how their photos were sorting - upload date vs date taken was totally confusing them and they were adding photo to the wrong year albums using the Big Rock System which created a big mess. They knew that if they were filtering by anything else it would show at the top that there was a filter being applied. But they didn't realize the date was upload date instead of date taken. This really needs to be displayed more prominently. It can be changed under the filter tab but what is selected should be shown without needing to open up the filter tab.

I agree. Show sort by at the top and show “ Upload Date, newest first” as the default. I’m working on a calendar, and I need to go through the filter to find the pictures which I’ve collected.

My second comment. I agree with showing what sort option is showing. However, I think it would be nice if we could select the default that we want and have it stay that way until we would change it. Step one would be to add the sort option showing at the top of the Gallery/Album. Step two to allow each user to select their default sort.

Yes! I agree with Dora - I'd like to be able to set my own default option.
