- The user should not swipe up on the open apps view on their iPhone to close the app. This will stop the Background App Refresh not only for FOREVER but for any other apps that use it. This is a function of how iOS operates.
- We recommend turning OFF the Background App Refresh for all apps if the user doesn’t care if the data is refreshed while they are not using the app. The less apps needing to share background time, the better. Those with Background App Refresh ON will receive more frequent opportunities.
- Users should not expect immediate uploading of photos when they are taken or added to the camera roll. Background App Refresh triggers “at the discretion of the operating system” based on things such as battery life, network connectivity, and app usage.
- If a user starts the upload with the app in the Foreground, then Backgrounds the app, they should not expect the upload to continue. In fact, it will be suspended. The next time the Background App Refresh triggers, it will be given the opportunity to continue uploading in the Background.
- iCloud Photos users with “Optimize Device Storage” as their Photos setting found under their Settings app, Account > iCloud > Photos, will most likely have a less than optimal experience as the FOREVER® app must first download the full resolution photos from Apple’s server, then upload it to FOREVER®. If clients have sufficient space on their iPhone, we recommend the “Download and Keep Original” as the iCloud Photos setting.
