AutoBook allows you to combine the power of your Storage account organization with our exceptional print quality to automagically create stunning photo books in just a few clicks.

A beautiful photo book can be created on a Mac, PC, or any other mobile device from which you can access the internet. AutoBook does not require any special desktop experience! Read on to learn how to begin your book.

How to Start an AutoBook

There are two main ways to be able to start a brand-new AutoBook project: as a new book project or from an Album/Tag. In both options you will choose the photos you want in the book and let our system automatically create them.

📌Note: Standard or upgraded Standard Layflat AutoBooks can hold a maximum of 891 photos (with 9 images per page, up to 99 pages), whereas Deluxe Seamless Layflat AutoBooks hold a maximum of 392 photos (with 8 images per spread, up to 49 spreads). Then you have additional spots on the cover to hold between zero to 5 more images!

💡Tip: If you need more photos in your book, we suggest checking out the desktop Artisan software to have full control over how many photos you can design with!

New Book Project

1. At the top of FOREVER.com hover over the "Create & Print" tab.
2. In the drop-out menu click on Photo Books.
3. Choose one of the AutoBook options near the top of the list: FOREVER AutoBook (for Standard or Standard Layflat binding) or Seamless AutoBook (for Deluxe Seamless Layflat binding). You cannot change your binding choice once the project has started.
4. Pick additional size and cover options before clicking the button to "Personalize".
5. Select which photos you want to start using in your AutoBook, you can add or remove photos later — reminder you can only choose a maximum of 896 photos total — FOREVER will complete your project by automagically populating your photo book.
   📌Note: By manually selecting your individual photos, the photos in your book will appear in the order that you selected them.

From an Album or Tag

1. Navigate to either your Album or Tag where the photos are.
2. In the top right corner click the shopping bag button to Print the memories, don't worry about having all your photos gathered as you can add or remove photos once the project is started.
   📌Note: By selecting all the photos in an Album or Tag, your photos will appear in the book in the exact way you have them organized or curated within your Album or Tag (up to 896 photos total). At this step you can back out and click the Filter button in the upper left to reorganize them in the order you want them to appear in the book.
3. In the pop-up window choose one of the AutoBook options: FOREVER AutoBook (for Standard or Standard Layflat binding) or Seamless AutoBook (for Deluxe Seamless Layflat binding). You cannot change your binding choice once the project has started.
   
4. Pick additional size and cover options (this can be changed later) before clicking the button to "Create My Project"; FOREVER will complete your project by automagically populating your photo book.

Editing My AutoBook

Q1: Can I change the size and binding (Hard Cover or Soft Cover) options for books I have already started?
Yes! To change the size or binding option for a book you’ve already started, simply click “Change” next to the existing book size and binding option in the upper left of the screen where you’re creating your book. Then, choose your new size and/or binding and either “Resize as Copy,” to create a copy of your book in the new size while also keeping the original, or “Resize Book,” to update the book you’re currently working on. When you resize your book, we recommend that you double-check the photo placement and text alignment for each page to ensure that they are still laid out the way you intended.

Q2: Can I change the size and binding (Hard Cover or Soft Cover) options for books I have already ordered?
Absolutely! If you’d like to print the same AutoBook you’ve already ordered in a new size or with a new binding, simply find that AutoBook in your “Print Projects” tab and click the Edit icon (pencil) underneath the thumbnail of your book, then choose the “Proceed to Edit Copy” button to continue. A new copy of that AutoBook will be generated, and you can update the size and binding following the steps in Question 10. (You can also update the color, text, order of photos, and more!) For more help finding your AutoBook projects, see Question 26.

Q3: Can I change an AutoBook with Standard or Standard Layflat binding that I have already started/ordered to the Deluxe Seamless AutoBook format?
Unfortunately no. Deluxe Seamless is a distinctly separate binding type so you cannot convert existing Standard or Standard Layflat to it. This is because Deluxe Seamless AutoBook uses one beautiful seamless spread across the center of your book, whereas the Standard AutoBook uses two individual pages bound in the center or gutter of the book. If you’d like to change from a Standard or Standard Layflat AutoBook to the Deluxe Seamless AutoBook, simply start a new project and select Deluxe Seamless to begin the automagical experience again with your new project. Luckily, building any type of AutoBook is quick and easy!

Q4: If I share an AutoBook that I made with someone else, can they resize the book once it’s in their Account?
Unfortunately, a shared print project cannot be edited. The correct size and binding must be chosen by the original creator prior to buying then sharing.

Q5: Can I change the background color of the pages in my photo book?
Yes! AutoBook allows you to choose from different backgrounds for each page or apply the background of your choice to the whole book at once. Simply select the white circle icon below each page to “Change Background”. Choose between a multitude of colors and patterns.

Q6: How do I add photos or a new photo page to my AutoBook?
AutoBook starts from your photos and then creates your book. If you’d like to add photos to a page once your book is already started, select the blue “Plus” icon on the bottom of each project page, next to “Change Design.” This will open a window where you can select your photos. If you have fewer than the maximum of 99 pages, you can add additional pages by selecting the “Add Photo Pages” icon at the top of the screen or add it from the end of your layout.

Q7: How many photos can I add to a page?
You can add up to nine (9) photos per page. If you have 9 photos on every page and a different photo for the cover, you will have a total of 896 photos in your AutoBook.

Q8: Is there a minimum number of pages needed in order to create a book?
As with all our photo book products, a minimum of 21 pages is needed. Don’t have 21 photos to use? No problem. You can simply add a text page or two. Remember, all empty text boxes will not be printed.

Q9: Can I change the page design while I am working on my photo book?
Yes! AutoBook allows you to change how your photos are displayed on the page and add up to 9 photos to each page. Below each page, you’ll find a “Change Design” button and an “Add Photos” icon. Once you have the number of photos you would like on the page (up to 9), it’s easy to toggle between the designs to change the look of your photos on the page.

Q10: Can I remove or delete photos from a page?
Absolutely. You can remove a photo from a page by selecting the photo and clicking “Remove” from the options presented. You can also delete the entire page by selecting the “x” in the top corner. Note: If it is a 1-photo page, you cannot remove the photo box from the page. If a photo box is left empty, it will not let you add the book to your cart. If you only have 21 pages in your AutoBook, you will not be able to delete a page.

Q11: Can I rearrange the order or combine the pages in my photo book?
Yes! At the top of the project screen, there is an option to “Edit Layout.” Here you can also combine photo pages (up to 9 photos) using the “Merge” function. If later you decide that you would like those photos on separate pages again, you can select the “Split” button.

Q12: Can I duplicate or delete a photo page?
Absolutely. At the top of the screen, there is a “Duplicate” button and a “Delete” button.

Q13: Can I add text or customize the text?
Yes! You can easily add a text page by selecting “Add Text Page” at the top of the screen, or you can add text to a page with photos. You can also easily customize the size, color, and font of your text. Want to apply the same custom text color to multiple pages? Use the quick “Apply Text Color to All” button to apply your changes to your whole book at once!

Q14: Can I change the layout for the photo book cover?
Yes! Once you choose the cover photo, you can choose from four layouts to update the look of your cover. Don’t like it? Change it! Like one better? Simply change it back again!

Q15: What if I want to change my cover?
No problem! Just click the "Change Cover" button under the cover itself then pick a new design as shown.

Q16: Where can I find my previously created AutoBook projects?
After creating an AutoBook project, you can find it by navigating to “Print Projects” within your FOREVER Account. (Select “Design & Print” in the top navigation bar, then select “Print Projects” from the drop-down menu.) Here you can sort your projects by date, category, or last modified date.

Q17: Where can I find the FOREVER AutoBook I just ordered?
After ordering your book, you can find it in your Print Projects. Navigate to “Design & Print” on the top navigation bar and select “Print Projects” from the drop-down menu. Look under the “Photo Book” category to find your project. Print Projects are also available for reordering within your FOREVER Account under “My Orders” in your Account drop-down menu.

Q18: How do I reorder a previously created AutoBook?
To reorder your AutoBook, navigate to your Account and select “My Orders,” then find the AutoBook you wish to reorder. Or, simply find your AutoBook project in the “Print Projects” section of Design & Print and select the “Order Reprints” button to the right of the project title.

Q19: How do I save my project?
Each time you make a change to your project, your project is saved. There is also an option to manually “Save” by selecting “Save” at the top of the screen. You can also duplicate your project at any time. If you have questions about ordering your book, please contact our Customer Care team.

Q20: Can I cancel or modify my AutoBook order after it has been submitted?
Once you place your order, FOREVER gets to work on creating your stunning photo book. If you have any concerns about your order, please reach out to our Client Care team right away. While we are unable to make changes to an order once it’s in production, we can often address your concerns.
