We are very excited to offer 10 x 10 Photo Books in both FOREVER® Design & Print and in Artisan® 5 or 6! Now, you can choose if you want to use one of our custom templates in Design & Print, or if you want to create something uniquely yours in Artisan 5 or 6.
FOREVER DESIGN & PRINT
Q1. How do I create a 10 x 10 Photo Book in FOREVER Design & Print?
A. Go to www.forever.com and click on “Design & Print” in the top navigation, then click on “Photo Books”. To see just the 10 x 10 Photo Book options, click the Filter By > Size > checkmark the 10 x 10 option. It will then show all the design options available in the 10 x 10 size!
Q2. How often are new designs added to the FOREVER Design & Print Library?
A. We are constantly adding new templates to our FOREVER Design & Print Library, so check back regularly for new designs and book ideas! If you want to explore options outside of Design & Print, you can also CLICK HERE to download the Free Trial Version of Artisan 6 digital scrapbooking software. Learn more about creating 10 x 10 Photo Books in Artisan below.
Q3. Can I convert an existing 8 x 8 or 12 x 12 project in FOREVER Design & Print to 10 x 10?
A. Unfortunately, converting projects to a different size is currently not available in FOREVER Design & Print.
FOREVER ARTISAN 5 and 6
Q1. I can’t see the option to create a 10 x 10 Photo Book in Artisan 5. What should I do?
A If Artisan has not been open on your machine for a while, you will need to update the software and then re-open it to see all the Photo Book options. You can also simply hold down the Shift key when you choose “Create a new project or page” within the software and click “Project”. That will force the software to display all available project types. You can then select a 10 x 10 Photo Book and begin creating your new project right away.
Q2. Can I use art kits I have already purchased when creating a 10 x 10 Photo Book in Artisan?
A YES! All papers and embellishments will work in any project. And that’s not all – any art kit that works in Artisan 5 / 6 and includes 12 x 12 sized predesigned pages (including Blueprints) will also work in any 10 x 10 project. Artisan will automatically size down the 12 x 12 to fit in your 10 x 10 book!
Q3. How do I use art kits with 12 x 12 predesigned pages in a 10 x 10 Photo Book?
A. Art kits with 12 x 12 predesigned pages are actually designed for any square project page. Using your current 12 x 12 kits in a 10 x 10 project is simple, and can be done in either of these ways:
- When creating a new project, select any 12 x 12 template that works in Artisan 5 and 6. The software will pre-populate the project with each predesigned page in the art kit.
- When working in an existing project, import predesigned pages to an existing 10 x 10 Photo Book just as you do in a 12 x 12 Photo Book by going to the Home Ribbon at the top and selecting either “Add page” or “Template”. Then choose "From an Art Kit" and navigate to the kit you want, then select the page you want to import.
Q4. How do I use pixels2Pages Blueprints in a 10 x 10 Photo Book?
A. pixels2Pages Blueprints created for 12 x 12 projects will work in any square project. Using your current 12 x 12 Blueprints in a 10 x 10 project is simple: go to the Home Ribbon and select either “Add page” or “Template”. Then navigate to your Blueprints folder and select the 12 x 12 page you want to import. Artisan will automatically resize the elements to fit on your 10 x 10 page!
Q5. Can I create a 10 x 10 Photo Book in Artisan 4?
A. Unfortunately, 10 x 10 Photo Books are not available in Artisan 4 at this time. We’d love to have you upgrade to FOREVER Artisan 6, though! You can also CLICK HERE to download the Free Trial Version of Artisan 6 digital scrapbooking software.
Q6. Can I create a 10 x 10 Photo Book in StoryBook Creator?
A. No, you cannot. While we welcome StoryBook Creator clients into the FOREVER Family, we do not own the StoryBook Creator software, and therefore are not able to support or update it. You can CLICK HERE to check out our help article on how to move from StoryBook Creator into Artisan.
Q7. Can I convert an existing 12 x 12 project to a 10 x 10 project in Artisan?
A. Yes, you can! You can always convert to a smaller size with the same aspect ratio (in this case, a square to a square). Please note that, due to quality constraints, you cannot convert from a smaller size to a larger size.
To convert from a 12 x 12 project to a 10 x 10 project in Artisan, open the project and go to File > Convert, then select the size and cover type to which you want to convert.
IMPORTANT REMINDERS ABOUT CONVERSION IN ARTISAN
A. Once the conversion is complete, review all the pages of the converted file carefully, paying special attention to the text and to any photos or elements near the edges or binding.
- Review the project with the “Print Guide” on to determine if anything is too close to the outside edge of the page.
- Review in the “Trim with current binding” or “Two bound pages” view to determine if anything is too close to the gutter (inside binding).
- Review all text closely – you may need to adjust the size of a text box or the size of the font itself so that all your journaling fits on the page.
B. Pay extra attention to the cover page. For a Hard Cover Photo Book, the cover will wrap around the edges, so make sure that none of the important elements on the cover will get wrapped inside the book.
C. If your original photo book is a Hard Cover Photo Book with text on the spine, and you convert to Soft Cover, there is no spine on a Soft Cover Photo Book. You will want to remove that text.
Remember, the Artisan conversion is meant to simplify the process of creating an existing project in a smaller size. However, you still need to take time to review and look critically at each page before uploading and printing your project. And, finally, ONCE ORDERS ARE SENT TO THE PRINT SHOP THEY CANNOT BE CANCELLED. We cannot stress enough the importance of carefully reviewing your project before ordering.
