If you’ve ever opened Artisan® and noticed that a predesigned page you purchased isn’t showing up in the Content Panel, you’re not alone. It’s a common question!
So where are the predesigned pages?
The answer lies in how different types of content work in Artisan:
- Papers and embellishments are single-image files, much like a photo. You add them directly to your page from the Content Panel, and you can resize, recolor, and layer them as needed.
- Predesigned pages, however, are more complex. They're made up of multiple layered elements (text boxes, photos, embellishments, backgrounds, etc) that you can customize individually.
This flexibility is what makes predesigned pages powerful—but it also means they don’t show up in the Content Panel like regular content. Instead, you add them a different way.
➕ How to Add a Predesigned Page to Your Project
Follow these steps to insert a predesigned page from your Digital Art Kit:
1. Open Your Project
- Click “Open an existing project or page”, and find your project file; or
- Select your project from the Recent Projects list on the Welcome screen
2. Go to the Home Ribbon
- At the top of your project click into the Home ribbon
3. Choose "Add page" or "Template"
- Add page = This will add a new page to the end of the project. This will NOT work if you have reached the project's page limit (such as a single page for mugs, 12 pages for calendars, etc).
- Template = This will overwrite the current page you are viewing, so be sure you are looking at the correct one as it cannot be undone.
4. From the drop-down select “Using a template page from an art kit”
- The Add a page to a project window will appear
- Artisan will automatically filter your art kits to show only predesigned pages the same size as the project you are working in (for example, in a 12x12 project you will not see 8.5x11 pages and vice versa)
5. Select the Page
- Look through your art kit Library, Categories, or Tags to find the kit
- Click the thumbnail of the page you want to insert
- Press either "Add selected page" or "Change template", depending which option chosen in step 3
6. Done!
Your selected template will be added to your project for you to edit and continue designing as normal!
⚙️ Still Can't Find Predesigned Pages?
If you still don’t see the Digital Art Kit you purchased with predesigned pages, first make sure the content is installed and activated in Artisan. If you need help with that, check out our article on installing art kits.
Next, please check the project size you are working in compared to the kit size you bought. You can verify your project size using these steps:
- Open the project
