If you receive a print product with any text and photos cut off around the edges, you’re not alone—this can be an unfortunately common problem in printing, and typically the error originates from a design problem on your project in the Artisan® software.
As you upload your project from Artisan® to Forever®, you’re agreeing upon the 1/4” of tolerance necessary to allot for any shift that may occur in production. The preview you see on your screen shows what your project will look like if printed exactly on that trim line. However, once in production, your project can be cut a bit short of this line, putting any vital photos and text at risk.
In this version of this 4x6 card, the text is resting dangerously close to the Trim Line—it’d be very likely that once printed, the bottom of the phrase “Last Forever” would be chopped off.
As a precaution, the text has been moved up to be at least ¼” inside the Trim Line. This now ensures that even if the card is cut short, no part of the wording will be lost.
If you’ve uploaded your project, make sure to preview it in FOREVER® Projects. If you are questioning whether your text or photo is hovering too close to the edges, it’s probably best to make adjustments in Artisan® and then re-upload.
If you’ve completed all of these steps and still received a project with cutoff photos and text, please email support@forever.com with the following information:
