Having trouble uploading your photos or videos in the FOREVER® Mobile App on your Android phone or tablet? Whether you’re using Auto Sync or manually uploading files, this guide covers the most common steps to resolve this issue quickly.
✅ Log Out and Log In
Sometimes a fresh session is all it takes:
- Open the Mobile App and click the hamburger menu (☰) in the upper left-hand corner.
- Select Sign Out at the bottom of the menu.
- Fully close the app (swipe up from the app switcher).
- Wait at least 30 seconds, then reopen the app.
- Log in using the email and password associated with your FOREVER® account.
🔄 Check for Updates
An outdated app version can interfere with uploads or syncing.
- Open the Google Play Store and search for "FOREVER", then tap Update if a newer version is available.
- Alternatively, inside the FOREVER Mobile App, open the hamburger menu (☰) and find the version listed—compare it with the latest version listed here.
🔓 Allow Full Access to App
Privacy settings may limit app access after certain Android updates.
- Go to Android Settings > App.
- Click to view FOREVER then go into Permissions.
- Choose Photos and videos, and select Always allow all.
- OPTIONAL: Go back and next choose Music and audio, select Allow.
Try manually uploading a photo from within the app to confirm access is restored.
📥 Verify Internal Storage
The FOREVER Mobile App can only upload files that are stored locally on your device. This is because other cloud storage services (such as Google Photos, Dropbox, Amazon Drive, etc.) usually do not allow 3rd party applications from accessing files stored with them - this is for the safety and security of your memories.
You can search online for "how to download photos from [your cloud provider] to Android phone/tablet" or something similar to find steps for retrieving those memories. Once the memories are on your device, FOREVER can grab and store them in your permanent Storage!
🌐 Check Your Internet Connection
If using Wi-Fi:
- Ensure your signal is strong and stable.
- Restart your router if needed.
If using Cellular Data:
- In Settings > Connections verify that Cellular Data is ON for the app.
- In the FOREVER app, go to Menu > Settings and make sure Cellular Data is enabled.
For more assistance, see Google's help articles to check Wi-Fi or Cellular settings.
📡 Background App Refresh
Auto Sync relies on this feature to run in the background of your device.
- Go to Android Settings > App.
- Choose Mobile data and make sure Allow background data usage is turned ON.
🔁 Restart Your Device
Restarting your device clears temporary files and helps all apps run more smoothly. Simply power your Android phone or tablet off, wait a few seconds, and turn it back on.
♻️ Reinstall the App (Use with Caution)
As a last step, you can delete and reinstall the app:
- Uninstall the FOREVER Mobile App.
- Restart your Android device.
- Reinstall the app from the Google Play Store.
- Log back in to your FOREVER account.
⚠️ Important Notes:
- Upload history (green banner on photos) will be lost.
- Already-uploaded memories won’t be uploaded again due to de-duplication.
- Deleted items in your FOREVER® account may re-upload if still on your device.
